Fort Lauderdale Waterfront

This Intercoastal home off Las Olas and Victoria Park in Fort Lauderdale began with a concept of utilizing the entire lot while blurring the spaces between interior and exterior. The front courtyard garden, as an extension of the house, was treated integrally with the architecture. The connection to the outdoors and front courtyard, for instance, links the house through stone walls, a pond and sliding doors that disappear into the walls and merge the greatroom with the front and rear outdoor spaces. Therefore, the use of natural elements incorporated into the contemporary lines of the structure connected the architecture to its natural setting. Green building products such as simulated wood cladding and natural keystone that was recycled from the original structure are employed as accents throughout.
